Tuesday Evening 7:00-8:00

Lilly Ambrose: "Every Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00, this room welcomes people who come together to join in silent meditation. We begin the hour by standing in a circle in order to become centered within ourselves and find a unity with each other. Then we sit in silent meditation until the courthouse chimes ring at 8:00. It is a time for experiencing the higher voice which comes out of silence. It is a time for cultivating love, for allowing peace in our hearts, for feeling gratitude, for finding spiritual unity with a group, for experiencing the moment, for prayer, for communing with the sacred in our own individual ways. Offering the time out of our very active lives for meditation is a message to the divine that we value the spiritual side of life, and given the opportunity, our spirits do speak to us. The only requirement is silence. There is no prescription for meditation in this group; it is an environment in which each individual way of seeking is honored. Everyone is welcome."

Frazer Lively: "When I sit in on Tuesday nights in the back of Lilly's Golden Bough bookstore, I feel safe, energized, and happy. I remember how important sacred silence is. No one pressures me to do any particular form of meditation or to sit in a certain way. The space is friendly and warm, with colored pillows and the sound of a fountain. The bells ring at 8:00, we all slowly stretch and smile, and I am surprised the hour has seemed so short."

Amy Johnson: "I look forward to meditation at Golden Bough every week, as it provides a sacred space for a sacred act: being still and knowing that I AM. Whatever lack of discipline I have in doing sitting meditation at any other time is simply not an issue on Tuesday nights. I think knowing that others are there and that we are sitting quietly both as individuals and as a group really enhances my ability to stay with it and to want to keep coming back. It is a wonderful experience, and I feel a lot of gratitude that Lilly has made this available and possible to anyone who is interested."

Mick Allen: "I appreciate the Tuesday evening meditations at Golden Bough. The energy of the room where we sit is so wonderful, as is that of the group that meets there. It is truly a gift."

Kathleen Ray, Delta, Colorado: "I am two thousand miles away from this meditation room yet I participate. I believe in the Universal power of prayer and when people meditate the energy flows out. When we sit together in spirit, whether in Lilly's peaceful room or in the mountains of Colorado, receptive minds everywhere are receiving the gift of love. Therefore I share this time and join the journey. Peace."

JoAnne Bondy: "This group has served as an integral support for my own meditation practice. Although those who attend come from varied meditation traditions and diverse religious backgrounds, we are able to share the essential commonality: sacred silence."

Suzanne Doonan: "Lilly's meditation bower has many quiet nooks and cushioned corners which provide each of us with a mooring from which to quiet our minds and sail into a sea of energy."
